Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), OCP Group subsidiaries—OCP Fertilizantes and OCP Nutricrops—and Brazil’s Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) have entered into an agreement to advance sustainable agriculture.
The agreement aims to leverage the combined expertise of these institutions to develop innovative farming solutions addressing pressing global challenges related to food security and environmental sustainability, particularly in regions vulnerable to climate change and food insecurity.
The collaboration is structured around several core objectives, including the development of advanced agricultural technologies, capacity building through researcher and student training, and the integration of digital tools in agriculture.
Additionally, the initiative will focus on biofortification to enhance the nutritional value of crops and adopt a circular economy approach to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.

Similarly, Silvia Massruhá, President of Embrapa, stressed the global importance of the collaboration, noting that sustainable food production requires strategic actions supported by shared resources and technologies between nations. She pointed out that Embrapa plays a crucial role in both national policy formulation and international cooperation, recognizing the need for global solutions to agricultural challenges.
