Nigeria’s tax regulatory body, FIRS, has integrated Flutterwave’s new payment technology to digitise tax collection in the country. The system is designed to enhance tax compliance, provide real-time visibility into business transactions, and streamline invoice management for companies operating in Nigeria.

Flutterwave confirmed this in a statement on Thursday, noting that it will give FIRS a seamless access to a secure infrastructure that will aid collection of taxes, levies and other payments from businesses and individuals across Nigeria.

Additionally, it will enable tax payments through multiple channels, providing real-time tracking, offline payment capabilities, and a convenient tax payment experience for Nigerians both at home and abroad.

The Chief Executive Officer of Flutterwave, Olugbenga Agboola, stated, “At Flutterwave, we are committed to leveraging technology to drive efficiency and economic growth. By making tax payments easier and more transparent, we are helping to digitise government collections and support national development, which is in line with our mission.”

The integration also offers key advantages, including real-time payment tracking, diverse digital and mobile payment options, offline tax payment capabilities, and enhanced transparency for both taxpayers and FIRS. It provides Nigerians abroad with a seamless way to fulfill their tax obligations.
