The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has opened a new Production Monitoring Command Centre, which is designed to change the phase of hydrocarbon operations and improve oil production.

The new centre, created by the NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, seeks to enhance monitoring, operational efficiency, and boost oil production capacity in the country.

Also, the new centre will provide a robust overview of production activities to ensure there are no disruptions in the production chain while creating a seamless operational continuity.

A standout feature of the PMCC is its support for predictive and preventive maintenance. By monitoring equipment performance and coordinating maintenance activities, the system ensures the reliability and longevity of assets

The spokesman of the NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, in a statement today, noted that the command centre is in tandem with President Bola Tinubu’s quest to increase efficiency and boost production in the country’s oil industry.

With this initiative, the NNPCL is seeking a smooth production planning, allocation of resources, and proper risk management. This will enable operators meet production targets efficiently while maintaining high operational standards.

In addition, the command centre will synergy among stakeholders through a secure platform for data sharing and communication, ensuring effective problem-solving and continuous improvement across the sector.

Nigeria is hoping to increase its oil production capacity, which is key to meeting the key projections in the 2025 budget and increase the revenue inflow of the country hence the creation of the new command centre.
