Today, Minka, a growing fintech company from Colombia, announced joint ventures with banks, financial institutions, and regulators in major African markets. Following the company’s announcement of plans to expand into Africa in July 2024, Minka has partnered with companies in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and Cameroon to create greater connectivity, transparency, and financial leverage around the world.

Minka’s expansion into Africa underscores the company’s commitment to driving greater financial inclusion and efficiency in Africa’s rapidly growing digital economy. Minka’s proprietary technology powers real-time clearing and settlement, making transactions faster, more transparent, and more secure. In Africa, Minka is adapting its platform to meet the needs of both formal and informal financial systems, bringing critical connectivity to millions of previously underserved people in the business and industry.

“We’re thrilled to work with an impressive network of African partners to enhance financial interoperability across the continent,” said Domagoj Rozic, CEO of Minka. “By collaborating with these institutions, we aim to facilitate seamless, cost-effective financial transactions, empowering African economies and their people with more efficient financial infrastructure.“

These partnerships include regulators, established banks and new financial institutions across the continent. Minka and its partners are working together to foster the sharing of technology and local expertise to increase speed and transparency in financial services for millions of people.

In Kenya, Minka solutions can play a key role in solving significant problems in the country’s financial market, which was listed as grey earlier this year, while in Nigeria, Minka is working with the elite to move towards digital payments. In Uganda and Cameroon, Minka aims to work with regulators to address financial connectivity inequalities and expand access to modern solutions.

Minka’s expansion in Africa focuses on connecting business, industry and people through innovative, easy-to-use technology.

Minka plans to expand its involvement in other businesses across the country as part of its strategic plan. However, this initiative represents a significant step in bridging the gap between Africa’s financial system and its citizens’ need for safe, easy and efficient digital money.

Minka is an open network for currency exchange.

This network is designed to connect parallels around the world via the Internet using data sharing on the Internet. This makes the very difficult process of transferring equally easy, fast and secure.
