Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, has announced a significant expansion of its remittance service, Send App, across 49 U.S. states through a partnership with MainStreet Bank.

This strategic collaboration allows Africans in the diaspora to send money to their families and friends back home in a faster, easier, and more affordable manner.

Send App by Flutterwave is designed to facilitate seamless international money transfers, with key features such as real-time support, exchange rate updates, an activity section for tracking transactions, and new voucher and referral code options.

Since its launch, the app has become a trusted platform for Africans abroad, providing a secure way to send remittances to over 30 African countries.

The partnership with MainStreet Bank reinforces Flutterwave’s commitment to expanding its service offerings and ensuring the security of users’ funds and data.

Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “MainStreet Bank understands the importance of community investment, which aligns perfectly with Flutterwave’s goal to connect Africa to the world through secure and efficient financial solutions.”

Remittances play a crucial role in Africa’s economic stability, with funds sent from the diaspora supporting medical bills, education, and living expenses for an estimated 200 million Africans.

According to the United Nations, remittances to Africa reached $100 billion in 2022, doubling over the last decade. This growth has driven the need for reliable, user-friendly platforms like Send App that enable Africans abroad to support their loved ones.

MainStreet Bank, a Virginia-based community bank, provides Flutterwave with the infrastructure needed to offer a compliant and secure service in the U.S.

Todd Youngren, President of Avenu, a division of MainStreet Bank, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are proud to partner with Flutterwave as they expand Send App across the U.S.”
